The much loved parade is back in its 40th year! Please see our new parade route for 2022 and ensure you head downtown early! Following the parade join us at the Hudson Holiday Market for pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus by donation!

November 26, 2022 5pm starting at Belleville and Government Street

Getting There

Visitors are encouraged to walk, cycle or take transit. Please expect traffic delays in the area. Check BC Transit for temporary bus stops and re-routing.

Road Closures:

James Bay Between 2:30 – 7 p.m., roads surrounding the Legislature and the Inner Harbour will be closed:

  • Government Street, from Superior to Humboldt
  • Belleville Street, from Menzies to Douglas
  • Menzies Street, from Superior to Belleville

Note: Superior Street will remain open for access in and out of James Bay. BC Transit will continue to operate in and out of James Bay.

Douglas Street

Douglas Street, from Humboldt to Bay Streets, will be closed from 5 – 7 p.m. Traffic will not be allowed to cross Douglas Street during this time.

The Parade will end at Fisgard Street. Douglas will remain closed until Bay Street to allow for parade floats to disperse.

Travel from Victoria West and Esquimalt

If you’re heading into downtown from Victoria West or Esquimalt, it’s best to take the Bay Street Bridge if your destination is east of Douglas Street.

Need to get Downtown?

Take Government Street or Blanshard Street but expect delays. The public won’t be able to cross over Douglas Street during the Parade.
